Originally, turquoise was found mainly in Iran in a sky-blue shade.
Tibet preferred a greener variety. Mexico and USA produce a greener,
more porous material that tends to fade more quickly. Chile, Russia,
Australia, Egypt and Turkestan also have turquoise. Turquoise is one
of the first gemstones to be mined.
